Freudenberg supplies seals for Mercedes hybrid car

Weinheim, Germany - Freudenberg, a German manufacturer of rubber seals, is supplying a 25-component seals package for the hybrid transmission of the new Mercedes S 400 Hybrid, to be launched in June, the company said 20 May.

The S 400's conventional six-cylinder engine will also feature Freudenberg valve stem seals. Injector shaft seals as well as O-rings and sealing caps, the company added.

The Mercedes S 400 is the first German mass-produced hybrid car, the statement said.
