ACS Rubber Division seeks award nominations

Akron, Ohio - The ACS Rubber Division is seeking nominations for six Science and Technology Awards for 2010.
The deadline for nominations is 15 July.
The awards are the Charles Goodyear Medal, the Sparks-Thomas Award, the Melvin Mooney Distinguished Technology Award, the George Stafford Whitby Award for Distinguished Teaching and Research, the Fernley H. Banbury Award, and the Chemistry of Thermoplastic Elastomers Award.
The awards recognise specific distinguished achievements of rubber scientists, engineers, chemists and technologists worldwide. Winners also receive monetary honorariums, engraved plaques and recognition at a special banquet in honor of the recipients.
The award sponsors will honour the winners during the Rubber Division's spring technical meeting in Akron, 26-28 Aprill, 2010.

Selection of finalists is determined by the division's Science and Technology Awards Committee, with final approval by the Executive Committee at the 2009 fall meeting in Pittsburgh.
