RWI commits to Middle East environmental market

Ajman, UAE - Rubber World Industries (RWI), a major manufacturer of closed-cell rubber insulation 'Gulf-O-Flex', is committing its support to the growing Middle East environment market by promoting the importance of suitable design through its range of eco-friendly rubber insulation products for the oil, gas, construction, shipping and automobile industries, the company said 25 May.
RWI, part of the Memon Group, values the Middle East environmental market, made up of alternative energy, energy efficiency, water and wastwater treatment, solid waste management and green building technologies, at $12 000 million (Euro 8 564 million). The company said it has been commissioned to undertake multimillion dirham projects for large-scale developments in the UAE, with particular focus insulation, air-conditioning, plumbing and heating.
“As more organisations and individuals begin to understand and embrace the importance of environmental friendly products and sustainable design, we are confident that our products will play a significant role in the construction of more 'green buildings' in the region,†said Abu Baker Shaikhani, managing director of RWI.
The company said it has adopted a strategy to maintain continuous growth and expansion, including a recent AED 30 million investment to triple its production to 3600 containers per year by 2013.
“We have invested into the latest technologies and in high quality raw materials to produce insulation products that are eco-friendly and safe to the end-users,†conluded Shaikhani.
