Rapra publishes report on mixing in a single screw extruder
ERJ staff report (DS)
Dublin, Ireland -- Rapra has published a new report titled, Mixing in Single Screw Extruders , aimed primarily at the plastics sector. The 280-page report was first published in June 2009 and is available for a price of around Euro 200, depending on delivery options.
The publishers say, "A lot of plastics products are extruded and most of those products contain additives, which mean that the plastic must be mixed at some point. Mixing is generally done with a twin-screw extruder, and the single-screw extruder, which is used in product production, is generally overlooked as a device for mixing. This reference handbook, written by a former Principal Consultant at Smithers Rapra, and the inventor of the cavity transfer mixer, redresses the balance."
ERJ has not seen this report and can make no comment on the quality of the research or of the conclusions.
