Russian tyre production fell by half in first six months

Moscow -- Discovery Research Group has published a new report titled, Market tyres in Russia in I half-year 2008-2009. for cars, vans, trucks and buses, agricultural and industrial machinery . The 121-page report was first published in September 2009 and is available for a price of around Euro 1800, depending on delivery options.
The publishers give statistics showing tyre production fell by roughly half in the first six months of 2009, compared to the first six months of 2008. The country made 8.36 million car tyres in the first half, comapred with 14.17 million a year earlier.
Truck tyre output fell to 1.82 million, compared withe 3.726 million a year earlier.
Agricultural tyre production fell to 558 000 units in the six months, from 966 000 a year earlier.
Imports of all types of tyres in the first half of 2009 also fell by around half, to 5.43 million units, compared with 10.27 million a year earlier.
