MIAMI (Nov. 9, 2009) - Latin Expo Group Ltd., a Panamanian trade group, is organizing a tyre exhibition and conference for Latin American and Caribbean tyre distributors in Panama City, Panama, July 7-11, 2010.
The event, Latin American & Caribbean Tyre Expo 2010, will be held at Atlapa Convention Center in Panama City, according to the organizer.
Latin Expo is in the process of organizing a program of international tyre industry speakers to accompany the exposition, according to a spokesman for the group, who said the group's vision “is to bring the global manufacturers and suppliers directly to the Latin markets and to get the Latin dealers to those manufacturers in a familiar and inexpensive venue.â€
It is believed to be the first such exposition and conference of its kind.
The organizers said they chose Panama because it is an accessible destination for all tyre distributors from North America, Central America, and South America, including Mexico and the Caribbean as well as an economical destination for Asian, North American, European and Latin tyre and equipment manufacturers.
In its initial promotion, Latin Expo notes that due to the antidumping duties imposed by U.S. on Chinese passenger and light truck tyres, “there are more than 42 million tyres manufactured in China that have to find new markets.â€
