Bridgestone named as Boeing supplier of the year

Tokyo -- Bridgestone Corp. has been named a 2009 supplier of the year by the Boeing for “exceptional commitment to excellence in working with Boeing, a 20 May Bridgestone statement said. $0$0Bridgestone was one of fourteen companies selected from a group of over 12 000 Boeing suppliers. The selection, the statement said, was based on stringent performance criteria for quality, delivery performance, cost, environmental initiatives, customer service and technical issues.
The award ceremony was held 13 April in Seattle, Washington.
Currently Bridgestone supplies aircraft tyres for Boeing's 737-900ER. 747, 767, and 777 model aircraft. The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner is also scheduled to go into commission with Bridgestone aircraft tyres, the statement added.
