Daetwyler buys online profile measurement system
ERJ staff report (RD)
Schattdorf, Switzerland -- Rubber technology specialist Daetwyler Rubber has launched an online measurement system for extruded profiles in collaboration with German company Pixargus, a 19 May Daetwyler statement announced.
Developed by Pixargus, the PCDX360 system uses light-emitting diodes in its sensor head, as well as six CCD (charge-coupled device) cameras with a precision of around 100 microns, to measure the contours of the extruded profile, Daetwyler said.
Reference contours are registered by directly importing CAD data via the in-house data network. Measurement points and tolerances can be selected using a touch screen, the statement added.
According to Daetwyer, the system constantly displays potential deviations of the contour by transforming measurement points into trend curves and highlighting measured values in colour, such as yellow to show measured values are critically close to the limit, the Swiss company said.
Daetwyler Rubber is part of the Daetwyler Group which reports annual sales of around Euro 800 million, employing 4500 staff worldwide.
