Marangoni expands into South Africa

Rovereto, Italy -- Marangoni Retreading Systems is to cooperate with Marathon, part of South Africa's Leader Rubber group. Leader sells around two million units annually, shared between retreads and new tyres.

Marathon wil provide the distribution platform and sales support to partners who use Marrangoni's Ringtread system. Marangoni said, a strategic point of differentiation that can both reduce overheads for transport fleets, and, thanks to the quality and reliability guaranteed by ring retreads, respond to the price-based market, made up of tyres from east Asia.

There are currently four Ringread operators in South Africa: two in Johannesburg, one in Pretoria and one in Pietermaritzburg, near Durban.
