ERJ staff report (RPN)
Middlebury, Connecticut − Addivant LLC will launch its first customer formulation centre in Asia − located in Shandong, China − in August, reported Rubber & Plastics News.
Addivant has other customer formulation centres in North America, the Middle East and Europe. The company said the Asian centre will provide the latest in "form-giving technology," including its non-dust blends.
The firm will increase investment in research and development in order "to deliver new chemistries and manufacturing: to build new formulation centres that are close to our customers allowing us to tailor our solutions and deliver them quickly and safely," according to President and CEO Peter Smith.
He said the company will add to its local technical organisation to support the new facility.
Addivant manufactures specialty additives including antioxidants, light stabilisers, rubber additives, polymer modifiers, polymerisation inhibitors and intermediates. It has 11 plants on five continents, as well as research, manufacturing and sales facilities around the world.
Owned by SK Capital, Addivant is the former antioxidant and UV stabiliser solutions business of Chemtura Corp.
