Serbia's Elemira SR plant wins investment

Belgrade, Serbia -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic announced a €1.5 million investment plan for the FSK Elmira synthetic rubber factory on Friday.
The compay currently makes around 22 kt/year of SBR under the names of Hipren. This may be increased to 35 kt annually as part of a new investment package from the local government.
The unit has a nominal capacity of 40 kt / year using a process under licence from Bunawerke Huls, now part of the Styron activity.
The Lurgi (Germany) designed Synthetic Rubber Plant in Elemir near Zrenjanin was put in operation around the end of 1983 and became a part of HIP-Petrohemija in 1991.
