Tenneco appoints chief operating officer

Lake Forest, Illinois -- Automotive parts and systems maker Tenneco Inc. has appointed Hari Nair as chief operating officer, effective immediately, a 15 July company statement said.
As coo, a newly created position at Tenneco, Nair will be responsible for the company's global operations reporting to Tenneco chairman Gregg Sherrill. Nair was previously the company's president, International Group.
Tenneco has also announced that vice president and general manager, Josep Fornos, has been promoted to the new role of senior vice president.
Fornos, who will report to Nair, will be responsible for OE and aftermarket business operations in Europe, South America and India, the statement said.
