REACH-IT set for temporary closure next week

Helsinki, Finland -- EChA, the European Chemicals Agency charged with implementing REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of CHemicals) legislation will take its REACH-IT system offline next week from Wednesdayevening (17:00 CET) ( 4 August ) until Friday morning 6 August.
The system is being upgraded in preparation for the 2010 deadline. EChA said te upgrade will significantly increase the level of automation in dossier processing. This should increase capacity significantly in the run-up to the deadline.
