Conti names new leaders for commercial vehicle tyre division

Fort Mill, South Carolina -- Continental Tire the Americas LLC has made a few appointments to its Commercial Vehicle Tire Division.
Thomas Fanning has been named director of replacement sales, responsible for strategic selling initiatives across dealer and fleet channels for the Continental, General, Ameri*Steel, Euzkadi and associated brands. He will report to Paul Williams, executive vice president-Truck the Americas.
Fanning replaces Shaun Uys, who is returning to his home country of South Africa to pursue other opportunities within Continental's rubber group. He had served as director of the original equipment unit since 2007.
Succeeding Fanning as director of OE sales is Wes Garber. In this role, Garber will have responsibilities for developing and executing business strategies for the Americas which include market shares, profitability and achieving standard OE positions with major truck and trailer manufacturers.
Garber will report to Peter Matzke, Conti's global vice president of original equipment-truck tyres, and indirectly to Williams. Garber also continues in his role as chairman of the board of directors of the joint venture which produces commercial vehicle tyres as the GTY Tire Co. in Mount Vernon, Ill.
He most recently held the position of controller for Conti's truck tyre business unit. Prior to joining Conti, Garber was the sales and marketing controller of BSN Medical Inc.
Kristian Klotz will replace Garber as controller. He is relocating from Continental A.G.'s central controlling in Hannover, Germany.
