ERJ staff report (R&PN)
Akron, Ohio -- Micro-Poise Measurement Systems L.L.C. has acquired the assets of Collmann Tire Systems & Services GmbH of Lubeck, Germany.
Micro-Poise-which makes precision test and measurement equipment for the tyre and automobile industries-said the newly named Collmann GmbH will operate as a division of the Akron-based company. Financial details of the purchase weren't disclosed.
Collmann makes measurement equipment with a product line that will complement Micro-Poise in terms of uniformity, dynamic balance and geometry systems, as well as a line of tyre X-ray machines. Micro-Poise said. The firm said it also is assuming Collmann's unique technologies and related products.
The key new product now offered by Micro-Poise is the Collmann VerTiX line of high-precision tyre X-ray equipment, the firm said. VerTiX offers a proprietary automatic data recognition software system that can be added to the Micro-Poise modular tyre measurement systems, which optimise the tyre measurement process for uniformity and dynamic balance measures, providing one package to final finish, the firm said.
