Bridgestone scoops top UK tyre industry award
London - Bridgestone has won the top UK tyre industry award of 'Manufacturer of the Year' in the recent TAFF (Tyre and Fast Fit) Awards.
The annual awards are a prestigious event in the tyre industry calendar as the nominees are selected and voted for by the UK's leading tyre specialists, all members of the NTDA (National Tyre Distributors Association). The awards recognise significant efforts benefiting tyre distributors and their customers. Apollo Vredestein, Continental Tyre Group, Hankook Tyre UK and Michelin were also contenders for this year's award.
Bridgestone won the award after a successful year of innovation, excellence, influencer engagement and dealer support. The launch of two new tyres, the Potenza S001 high-performance tyre and the Battlax BT-023 bike tyre, as well as the success of the Bridgestone Eco Rally 2010, were deciding factors for Bridgestone's award win.
John McNaught, Managing Director at Bridgestone UK comments: “It is always pleasing to win awards, but especially so when the votes are cast by people within the industry. Being named 'Tyre Manufacturer of the Year' by members of the NTDA is the ultimate accolade in this regard and it shows our continued efforts to maintain our number one position are proving worthwhile. The recognition is a fitting testament to the many successes we have achieved."
As well as delivering the highest quality products to its customers, Bridgestone also works closely with its dealers, adding value to their business and retaining their ongoing support.
Bridgestone Europe NV/SA - with European headquarters in Brussels, Belgium - is a key division of the Bridgestone Corp. It develops and manufactures top-quality tyres in Europe which, through its 20 subsidiary sales companies and other channels, are distributed all over Europe.
