Japan sees strong growth in sales of cars and motorcycles
Tokyo - Japanese manufacture and export of all types of cars and motorcycles rose in September, led by a 26.9-percent increase in motorcycle production. This took the total units made to 57 908 units, according to data just released by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc.
Motorcycle exports in the month also rose, by 29.2 percent, or 39,272 units, up 8866 units on the same month last year, JAMA reported.
Automobile production in the month reached 924 963 units, up 94 852 units or 11.4 percent on output in the same period last year. Exports rose to 438 910 units, up 42 747 units or 10.8 percent on the Sept 2009 figure.
