Koppers holdings improves results on carbon sales

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania -- Koppers Holdings Inc.has announced consolidated sales for the third quarter of 2010 up by 16 percent compared to the prior year quarter. Sales for Carbon Materials and Chemicals (CM&C) increased by 26 percent, or $45.3 million over the prior year quarter.
Commenting on the quarter, President and CEO Walter W. Turner said, "I am pleased that our global Carbon Materials and Chemicals business has improved over the first nine months of 2009 despite the slow, uneven rebound in the global economy.
The company makes carbon black at its Australian subsidiary, Continental Carbon Australia based in Kurnell New South Wales.
