Michelin wins approval for NZG tyre on Airbus A350
ERJ staff report (DS)
Paris -- Michelin will provide the Airbus A350 XWB with its Air X NZG radial tires. The Clermont Ferrand-based tyre maker has been chosen to develop and supply tyres for the landing gear of the new European wide-body jetliner.
Weighing around 20 percent less than tyres made using conventional technology, Michelin Air X NZG tyres help to make the Airbus A350 XWB more fuel efficient while reducing its environmental impact. In addition to reducing the weight of the new European wide-body jetliner, Michelin Air X NZG tyres also exhibit superior robustness in operation.
Michelin has been an Airbus supplier since 1983. Proud to equip all Airbus civil aircraft, from the A300 to the A380, Michelin is already preparing for the next generation of long-haul jetliners
