ERJ staff report (DS)
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates -- Pirelli has concluded its first official Formula One tyre test. The next private test, to fine-tune the tyres, will take place in Bahrain at the beginning of December. After then, the next official tyre test with all the teams is scheduled for February 2011.
Paul Hembery, Pirelli's motorsport director: “We've passed our first test with full marks. All the teams have done plenty of laps and everyone has worked very hard. We've focussed on the development of the front tyre and that has given us the most satisfaction. On Monday (today, 22 November), we begin to analyse the data collected over the last two daysâ€
Each team completed an average of 80 laps and 5500 kilometres on the Yas Marina circuit on Saturday, bringing the total distance driven to over 10 000 km.
