Rubber Board published October statistics

Kottayam, India -- The Rubber Board of India has published the October version of its Rubber Statistical News.
The report says, "production of Natural Rubber
(NR) in the country during
August 2010 increased to
72,500 tonnes compared to
64,750 tonnes during August 2009.
The cumulative production during the
first five months of 2010-'11 was
297,750 tonnes as against 274,325
tonnes during the corresponding period of the previous year, registering a growth of 8.5 percent. The production provisionally estimated for September '10 is 77,500 tonnes.
"Consumption of NR during August'10
increased to 79,500 tonnes as against
76,200 tonnes during July'10. The
total consumption for the first five
months of the current fiscal year
increased to 388,550 tonnes as
against 377,600 tonnes during the
same period last year, recording a
growth of 2.9 percent.
"Production of Synthetic Rubber (SR)
during August'10 increased to 8,942
tonnes from 8,188 tonnes during
July'10. The cumulative production of
SR during April'10 to August'10
nominally increased to 44,086 tonnes
as against 44,037 tonnes during the
same period of the previous year.
