Michelin to raise US tyre prices
ERJ staff report (R&PN)
Prices on Michelin- and BFGoodrich-brand truck tyres and MRT-brand retreads will rise an average of 8 percent, Michelin said.
Michelin did not specify the size of the increase on Michelin-, BFG-, Uniroyal- and private- and associate-brand passenger and light truck tyres, but said they will vary by product line.
Michelin did not comment on its reasons for raising prices or on the pricing situation in Canada.
Michelin last raised truck tyre/retread prices in the US on May 1 by 3 to 7 percent, and on passenger/light truck tyres it was June 1, by up to 6 percent.
Michelin also raised prices on farm and OTR tyres in North America on Aug. 1 by 3 to 3.5 percent.
