RPN, Veyance to hold hose conference
ERJ staff report (R&PN)
Akron, Ohio -- Rubber & Plastics News is re-introducing a technical conference program for the rubber hose manufacturing industry with the help of Veyance Technologies Inc.
After a two-year hiatus, the Hose Manufacturers' Conference will be held Aug. 23-24, 2011, at the Conference Center at the Holiday Inn in Independence, Ohio, a Cleveland suburb.
“With our partner Veyance we are able to once again present a comprehensive event for senior managers, manufacturing engineers, plant managers and plant supervisors, R&D compounders and quality assurance supervisors involved in all aspects of the manufacturing of rubber hoses,†said David Zielasko, publisher of RPN and vice president of Crain Communications Inc., parent company of the publication.
“We want to make the conference beneficial in the scope and range of the technical information provided by key industry professionals so that when each of our delegates return to work they will be able to manufacture hose more profitably, effectively and efficiently,†he said.
“This will be accomplished in three ways: first through interactive paper presentations on specific hose applications and manufacturing issues; second by visiting the numerous table-top technology providers that supply the industry; and third by providing networking opportunities to meet with peers in an informal environment,†Zielasko said.
The one-and-a-half day program will focus on a number of key issues including presentations on advanced hose manufacturing and materials testing equipment, presentations on technology advances in new materials and ingredients, and presentations on chemicals and processing aids for various hose applications. Safety, including tagging and tracking, hose assembly guidelines, UL and SAE certified standards, low permeation hoses, and FEA evaluations and reinforcement, are among the topics that are under consideration for the program.
“We're excited about the opportunity to collaborate once again with Rubber & Plastics News for this conference, designed to benefit the hose industry,†said Dave Maguire, vice president of global technology for Veyance Technologies. “It will be a forum in which much needed information can be shared to increase the industry's knowledge base.â€
The conference registration fee of $350 for rubber product manufacturers and hose manufacturers and $750 for suppliers includes a complete set of all the technical papers presented at the conference, complimentary lunch and refreshments and an opening night cocktail networking reception.
Along with the Hose Manufacturers'' Conference, RPN also organises and produces several other rubber specific conferences for the automotive, silicone, rubber moulding and latex industries as well as the International Tire Exhibition & Conference.
