Ceat, BKT book big stands at TyrExpo Asia
ERJ staff report (DS)
Singapore -- Indian tyre makers BKT and Ceat have unveiled ambitious plans for their presence at TyrexpoAsia'11 in March next year.
BKT, the OTR tyre specialist currently exports around 95 percent of its production, with 60 percent of this currently sold in Europe where it has established a strong market position.
“As the only major show for tyres in the region, Tyrexpo Asia gives us the right platform to launch our future plans for this market. BKT will be showcasing its newly developed range of OTR radial tyres marketed under the sub-brand name of Earthmax, which are benchmarked against the world leading brand and are now proving their worth in the marketplace,†he says.
“After being a preferred brand for agriculture, industrial, construction and earthmoving vehicles in Europe, BKT is also growing aggressively in Asian markets. We will finish this year with 50 percent growth year-on-year. After becoming popular in the replacement market, BKT has now also become a preferred choice of few major OEMs in Asia,†confirms Mr Singh.
According to Sandeep Gulati, general manager - exports at Ceat Ltd, Tyrexpo Asia'11 will be one of the first major occasions to talk to customers about its recent agreement with Pirelli to acquire the global rights to market tyres under the Ceat brand across the world.
Ceat is also adding to its production capacity with the commissioning in October 2010 of a fourth manufacturing centre, in Halol, India to produce radial tyres.
The extra capacity will support sales of the CEAT and Altura brands domestically and to the 115 export markets already served by the company.
With more than 130 exhibitors already confirmed to take part including many new bookings still taking place, Tyrexpo Asia 2011 is poised to be the largest edition of the show to be staged in the Singapore Expo Centre. The expo takes place over three days from 29-31 March 2011.
