UK motoring organisation issues winter tyre advice
ERJ staff report (DS)
London -- The UK's Institute of Advanced Motoring (IAM) has issued advice on the use of winter tyres. The move follows confusing and incorrect advice given by the UK's Transport Minster last week.
The advice covers Winter Tyres, All Season Tyres, Snow Chains and Snow Socks. Studded tyres are not considered as, according to the IAM, "they are no longer generally available in the UK. Potential damage to roads and development of non-studded winter tyres has rendered them obsolete."
