Brisa buys Bandag unit

Istanbul -- Brisa agreed to buy the Turkish operations of American based tyre retreading materials and equipment manufacturer company Bandag from Bandag AG, the European subsidiary of the Bridgestone Corporation for US $ 3.6 million. . With this move, Brisa provides cost-cutting advantage to logistic sector, as well as contributing to the preservation of the environment.
Brisa is a joint venture between Bridgestone and the Sabanci Corp. Bridgestone has bought most of the other assets of Bandag.
Brisa General Manager Hakan Bayman said that the decision for the acquisition was made in line with Brisa's mission 'to provide superior values to society through sustainable growth'. He continued by saying: “We provide our customers with the best quality of products with our brands Bridgestone and Lassa. More than this, we create new products and services that meet the expectations and demands of our consumers. Bandag's tyre retreading services are essential as they prolong the product value of quality tyres used in buses and trucks, thus providing economy in total ownership costs.â€
