Dynasol to build JV elastomer plant in China

Madrd -- Dynasol, a subsidiary of Repsol and the Kuo Group, has created a joint company with the Chinese Xing'an petrochemicals company to build a facility and to produce and sell rubber.
The new plant will have a production capacity of 100,000 tonnes a year of styrene-butadiene-based synthetic rubber, which will also be marketed in other countries in the region. The plant will be located within a complex owned and operated by Xing'an's mother company in Liaoning province, affording seamless integration of its main raw materials.
Dynasol is a leader in the production of thermoplastic elastomers SBCs (such as SEBS, SBS) and solution-polymerised SBR (S-SBR); and a world leader in rubber modification of asphalt. The company is not active in the tyre market, which is the world's main market for S-SBR.
Dynasol will provide this joint venture with the production technology, the know-how to develop new products and will provide technical service to clients.
