Chennai, India -- Within 10 months of starting commercial production, Apollo Tyres' newest greenfield in the southern Indian city of Chennai crossed another milestone at 2300 hours yesterday when it produced the millionth passenger vehicle tyre, an Apollo Acelere 185/65 R14.
In another development, Apollo Tyres recently signed a supplementary MoU with the State Government of Tamil Nadu, where the planned investment in the Chennai greenfield has been increased to Rs 21 billion with a commitment to provide employment to over 2000 people.
