Michelin joins US sustainable business initiative

Washington DC -- Michelin North America is among the founding members of a new sustainable business practice group.
The Stewardship Action Council (SAC) aims to advance sustainability by providing the resources and tools to help US organisations adopt sustainability standards, according to the group's website. The initiative also aims to create collaborative partnerships allowing companies to address local and regional environmental, social and economic challenges.
Other founding members of the SAC include BMW, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and DM Petroleum Operations Co., as well as a number of US state departments of environment, conservation and ecology.
