Wurfbain expands rubber activities
ERJ staff report (TP)
Zaandam, The Netherlands – Wurfbain BV, a member of the international trading RCMA group, has enhanced its natural rubber and natural rubber latex trading activities, by purchasing its own storage tank facility.
Kelvin Terminals, located in Terneuzen, the Netherlands, will “perfectly complement” the services Wurfbain offers.
With a total capacity of 4,235 cubic metres distributed over 12 tanks, the installation combines latex operational know-how with an “ideal location” close to Antwerp, which is one of the biggest European ports with good connections to all European destinations.
Besides the “logistical advantages” of the terminal, the facilities also include a laboratory which will perform standard latex quality control tests as well as customer-specific tests in order to meet the increasing stringent quality requirements of customers.
After the “successful” conclusion of the acquisition in December 2013, some modification and renewal work was done. The first tanks were commissioned for NR latex handling in March 2014.
The tank installation consolidates the well-established network of warehouses, which enables Wurfbain to serve the requirements of its latex customers in the European market.
