Saargummi liquidation begins; financial solution expected this month
ERJ staff report (DS)
Saarbrücken, Germany -- Saarbrücken District Court has officially opened proceedings over the assets of SaarGummi GmbH and SaarGummi Germany GmbH . The court also formally appointed Jean-Olivier Boghossian from the law firm Schultze & Braun as liquidator of SaarGummi GmbH and Udo Gröner of Heimes+Müller as liquidator of SaarGummi Germany GmbH.
The liquidation proceedings affect only these two companies; not the other 22 units of the Saargummi group, according to a 2 Feb. press release from Schultze & Braun.
In a statement, Boghossian and Groner jointly said they expect to reach a financial solution for the group as a whole by the end of February at the latest.
In 2010 SaarGummi achieved sales of around euro 360 million worldwide with about 4,400 employees in 23 companies with 12 factories, of which euro 320 million came from the automotive sector.
