Saipem to extend Versalis' Ferrara plant

San Donato Milanese, Italy – Construction, engineering and project management specialist Saipem has been awarded contract for the expansion of the Versalis plant in Ferrara, Italy, worth approximately €200m.
The project includes constructing a fourth production line to operate alongside the three existing lines, in addition to increasing their production capacity and upgrading the plant's auxiliary systems. The project will increase the Ferrara site’s EPDM production capacity to 130,000 tonnes per year.
Saipem will undertake project management, detailed engineering, material and component supply, construction, installation and pre-commissioning.
The expansion works will be completed by the second quarter of 2016.
