Conti gets Porsche Macan approval
ERJ staff report (TP)
Hanover, Germany – Porsche will use Continental tires for its new compact SUV Macan.
The sports car manufacturer has now approved both 18" and 21" summer tires from the ContiSportContact product family as well as the 18" ContiWinterContactTS 830 P for use during winter. These tires bear the additional mark N0 to distinguish them from other tires.
Porsche has also granted further approvals for 18", 19", and 20" Continental summer and winter tires for the Panamera models. These winter tires are approved for speeds up to 240 kph so drivers can “quickly make headway on dry, obstacle-free roads, even during winter”.
Since they have been approved by Porsche, these tires also bear the mark N0. Continental recommends fitting winter tires at temperatures below 7°C. In Germany and many European countries, they are compulsory when wintry road conditions prevail or for a specified time span.
