ERJ staff report (PR)
Stuttgart, Germany – Wittmann Battenfeld will present new micro injection moulding technology for processing liquid silicone rubber (LSR) at the Medtec Europe medical technology fair, 3-5 June in Stuttgart, Germany.
At the event, dust protection caps for mini jacks will be manufactured on a two-cavity mould supplied by Awetis, from two-component LSR from Momentive. The material will be conveyed by a dosing pump from two one-litre cartridges to the injection unit. Parts will be embossed with micro structures engraved into the mould by means of laser technology.
The all-electric moulding machine on display will come as a clean-room production cell, equipped with a rotary disk, parts removal handling device, integrated quality inspection by image processing, as well as a clean-room module.
