Moscow debut for MixCont's “unique†mixing process control system
ERJ staff report (TP)
Moscow – Swedish firm MixCont AB are at the Tires & Rubber Exhibition for the first time to demonstrate their process control system for rubber mixers.
Dr Stas Brassas, Managing Director, spoke with ERJ on 23 April to explain what the company offers.
“We produce the unique mixing process control systems for rubber mixers, but this system covers not just mixers but the complete rubber mixing production chain and provides full traceability from raw materials through master batch, mills, extruders through to the remix stage. And then up to the laboratory test – so it’s complete data integration from raw materials to labour.
“And what is important in the main feature of our system – it can recognise the main rubber mixing process for raw materials online in real time – which is absolutely unique for the industry.”
Dr Brassas said the parameters include dispersion, distribution and viscosity online, for the complete batch – after the final stage of mixing.
“This gives real power for rubber producers for quality management. They can trace the effectiveness of each second of production and in real time.
“So on top of that MixCont can recognise a lot of abnormal errors and mistakes, and in many cases the system can adjust in real time the control of the process to avoid the bad consequences of that abnormal event.”
Dr Brassas believes this system will “drastically reduce” troubleshooting time.
