Beijing -- Tsinghua University has begun commercial-scale production of butyl rubber in China, according to a report from China Chemical Industry News published on the website of the China Rubber Industry Association (CRIA)
The report said the 50 kt/year plant has been running trial production for nine months and is now in commercial production, with products being supplied to Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Co., Ltd.
Plans, said the report, call for a halogenation unit to be built and brought on stream by October 2012.
