Heitmann to lead Lanxess for another five years

Leverkusen, Germany -- Dr. Axel Heitmann has been re-affirmed as chairman of Lanxess AG for another five year term. Heitmann has been
Chairman of Lanxess' Board of Management since the company was spun off from Bayer AG in
September 2004. The new mandate will begin as of July 1, 2012.
“Dr. Heitmann and his team have turned Lanxess into a global
operating company with close to 16,000 employees. Under his
leadership, Lanxess has been a remarkable success story. That is
why I am delighted that he will continue to lead the company in the
future, in close and friendly cooperation with the Supervisory Board
and employee representatives,†said Dr. Rolf Stomberg, Chairman of
the Supervisory Board.
