Now zinc oxide is a speciality - Lanxess
ERJ staff report (DS)
Leverkusen, Germany -- Lanxess AG is promoting its zinc oxide and zinc carbonate products as speciality materials. In a press release titled, "Elevated to speciality status", Dr. Adolf Sicheneder, product expert at Lanxess said “Our zinc oxides are now much more than commodity products - they are true specialtiesâ€.
Lanxess produces zinc oxide active and zinc oxide transparent - the latter is more accurately a zinc carbonate - using a process combining precipitation and calcination rather than a classic roasting process used by many other manufacturers. Lanxess said, "The desirable properties of Lanxess zinc oxide can be attributed to a special and sophisticated production process that only a handful of manufacturers worldwide have mastered."
