Tyre problem is No. 3 reason to call breakdown service in UK

London -- A flat tyre or damaged wheel is the third most common reason to call out UK breakdown service, the AA, according to research by UK Consumer publication Which?
The top reason, with 20 percent of calls, was a flat or faulty battery. Next, with 10 percent of the total calls, was a lost key. A flat tyre came third with 5 percent of the call-outs.
The full top-10 listing of reasons to call out the AA were:
- Flat/faulty battery - 20%
- Lost keys - 10%
- Flat tyre/damaged wheel - 5%
- Distributor cap - 3% or less
- Alternator faults - 3% or less
- Fuel problems - 3% or less
- Clutch cables - 3% or less
- Spark plugs - 3% or less
- HT leads - 3% or less
- Starter motor - 3% or less
