Conti to promote tyres for e-cars at IAA Frankfurt
ERJ staff report (DS)
Frankfurt, Germany -- Continental will present the prototype Conti.eContact developed specifically for electrically-powered cars at the forthcoming IAA motor show in Frankfurt. Conti said the new ContiEcoContact 5, which has been in production since spring 2011, features very low rolling resistance (20 percent less than its predecessor) combined with short braking distances, even on wet roads. As a result, the driving distances of electric cars can be lengthened considerably. This constitutes a major milestone in ensuring the acceptance of such cars outside of urban centers.
Under the motto “Driving Future Mobilityâ€, Continental will be exhibiting at this year's IAA from September 15 to 25, 2011. Looking at automotive megatrends concerning safety, the environment, information and affordable cars as well as electromobility, Continental will offer a view on the future of individual mobility on its over 900 m2 booth.
