ERJ staff report (DS)
Kranj, SLovenia -- Roll cover manufacturer and roll systems supplier SchäferRolls GmbH & Co. KG has expanded
its interest in Sava-Schäfer d.o.o., Kranj (Slovenia) from the 50 percent share it has successfully held
since 2001 to 100 percent. This means that the Renningen-based company now holds all shares
formerly held by Slovenian co-partner Sava d.d.
Gregor Azman, managing director of Sava-Schäfer d.o.o. since 2007, will continue to lead the
company under the new company name SchäferRolls d.o.o. Michael Schwahn, who is also a
managing shareholder of SchäferRolls GmbH & Co. KG, has been appointed as a further
managing director. SchäferRolls d.o.o. has 40 employees, producing rubber and polyurethanebased
roll covers in Kranj, Slovenia. Its products are primarily aimed at the Eastern European
paper, film, textile, furniture, and metal industries.
The decision to fully acquire the Slovenian company reflects the consistent implementation of
the international growth strategy of SchäferRolls. The aim is to achieve the prerequisites for
intensifying know-how exchange by means of product specialisation and the transfer of
standards and experience in production and to consolidate the company's market position by
extending its sales network to tap new market shares in Eastern Europe.
