Norco plant in butadiene leak

Norco, Louisiana -- The Shell / Motiva plant in Norco has voluntarily alerted the US National Response centre to a leak of an unknown amount of 1,3 butadiene from its plant in Norco. The report also mentioned propylene.
The report was made at around mid-day on 17 September. No injuries or damage was reported. The caller said the cause of the leak was a loose clamp on a pipe.
