Huber to hike silica capacity in Tennessee

Atlanta, Georgia -J.M. Huber Corp.'s Huber Engineered Materials division is increasing capacity at its precipitated silica plant in Etowah, Tennessee. The project will add 14 000 tonnes of annual capacity to the site, and should be completed in the third quarter of 2013, the firm said.
The material is used in industrial, food and dental markets. The cost of the project wasn't disclosed.
Huber earlier this year announced it will open a new production line at its precipitated silica plant in Jhagadia, India, which is set for completion in the fourth quarter that will double the capacity of the site to 35 000 tonnes.
