Belshina to add off-road tyre capacity

Minsk, Byeloruss - The Belarusian tyre manufacturer OAO Belshina is investing in new capacity and new capabilities, according to reports from the State News Agency, BelTA. These include adding capacity for low ground pressure agricultural tyres and increasing mining tyre sizes up to 63 inches.
The project will increase the output of agricultural tyres by 84,000 per annum while increasing labor productivity, preserving and improving the company's hold on the home and foreign markets.
The project will require €44.8 million, including €42.6 million the enterprise plans to borrow as loans or direct investments. The payback period is estimated at 8.4 years. Interested parties have already contacted the company.
By 2020 Belshina plans to retool the solid metal cord tyre division that makes tyres for trucks at the popular tyres plant (in 2010-2013). The company also plans to start manufacturing radial-design solid metal cord tyres with the rim diameter of 57 and 63 inches in the central wing of the supersize tyres plant (in 2012-2016).
