ERJ staff report (LMH)
Leverkusen, Germany -- More than 75 000 consumers have already used Lanxess's fuel savings calculator since its introduction across Europe at the beginning of September, the speciality chemical company has said.
Lanxess's software is designed to show motorists how highly fuel-efficient quality tyres, known as green tyres, are kind on the wallet and the environment. The program also calculates how many kilograms less CO2 a car then emits every year. It takes account the new EU tyre label which all new vehicle tyres in the European Union will have to bear from 1 Nov. The program was developed in cooperation with the Technical University of Munich, and TÜV Rheinland has tested and certified it, Lanxess said.
