Indian synthetic rubber consumption rises 6 percent in H1

New Delhi - The Indian Rubber Board has reported the country's synthetic rubber consumption rising by 6 per cent to 226,000 tonnes in the first half of fiscal year 2012-13, according to the Hindu Business Line, while production rose marginally to 54,778 tonnes during the same period.
The country consumed 213,000 tonnes of synthetic rubber in April-September of 2011-12 fiscal, while the output stood at 54,750 tonnes during the period.
Consumption by the auto tire industry rose by 8 per cent to 167,000 tonnes during the period as against 155,000 tonnes in the previous year.
Imports of synthetic rubber declined by 3 per cent to 169,000 tonnes from 175,000 tonnes.
