Leverkusen - With their new Duroflex and Durofloor floor coverings, engineers from rubber expert Metzeler Technical Rubber Systems have developed durable alternatives to the silicone coverings often used up to now.
“Outstanding†abrasion resistance and fire protection properties are claimed for the easily bondable non-slip products, which include the halogen-free highly fillable rubber material Levapren from synthetic rubber supplier Lanxess.
Lanxess notes that floor coverings used in long-range airliners must meet a wide range of strict requirements, including safety-related ones. This naturally applies in particular to products for fitting in aircraft galleys.
