Marangoni expands Turkish retreading business
Istanbul, Turkey – Marangoni Retreading Systems has expanded its business in Turkey in a bid to “significantly improve” its share of local retreading market.
The Roverto, Italy-based company announced 27 April that through its subsidiary Marangoni Kauçuk, the company has established a new warehouse and head office in Istanbul to take advantage of the “Turkish city’s strategic importance to the tire retreading industry.”
The move, said the company, will bring Marangoni nearer to its’ dealer network in the country, and will also offer logistical advantages which will benefit distributors.
“Turkey has the sixth biggest European retread market, and is second only to Germany in the cold retreading technology sector,” Marangoni added.
According to the Italian firm, its subsidiary Kauçuk Ticaret has been successful offering Marangoni’s Ringtread and Unitread ranges, and enjoys “an impressive share of the domestic market.”
Marangoni expanded its operations in Izmir, Turkey in 2014.
Nejat Dagdemir will head the company’s new offices and warehouse in Istanbul as general manager of Marangoni Kauçuk.
According to Dagdemir, Marangoni has a “complete inland delivery service with warehousing capability in 15 cities across Turkey.”
“Our major investment on an advanced warehouse management system supported by radio frequency communications and automatic ID technologies, such as RFID, will improve the service to our customers,” Dagdemir added.
