Nairobi – Kenya’s Sameer Africa Ltd, which produces Yana-branded tires, is closing its plant in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi, according to news reports.
Production will stop at the factory as of 30 Sept, said Kenya’s KTN news on 2 Sept.
The manufacturer, it claimed, will now seek to shift production to China and India.
Sameer Africa employed 527 as of December 2015. It is not clear how many people will be affected by the decision.
