Hanover, Germany – ContiTech’s vibration control business has expanded its range of sealing components for brakes, by developing micro-composite parts.
The purchase of a moulded brake component business in France last year now allows the company to manufacture micro-composite parts for technologies such as compact anti-lock braking systems, for example, ContiTech said in a May news release.
“Thanks to the expertise gained, we are now full-service suppliers of brake sealing components. Our customers stand to profit from this,” commented Kai Peters, head of the Sealing Systems Chassis segment at ContiTech. “We intend to tap new markets with the expanded product portfolio.”
Composite microparts are gaining in importance due to the trend to lightweight engineering in the automotive industry, which creates a demand for smaller, more precise sealing components, ContiTech said.
